This 3,200 year old tree is so huge… It took 126 photos just to capture it all

This tree is old…. and even that’s an understatement… a big understatement. Standing an incredible 247 feet high, ‘The President’ as it’s called, is estimated to be an astonishing 3,200 years old. The tree is located at the beautiful”Giant Forest” in Sequoia National Park…. roughly 5,000-8,000 feet above sea level in California.

Not only is this tree massive, but it’s NEVER been captured on camera in a single image…. until scientists from National Geographic decided to change that.

THE TRUNK IS AN INCREDIBLE 27 FEET WIDE !

AND THE TREE IS STILL GROWING…. ADDING ONE CUBIC METER OF WOOD PER YEAR

THEY WERE ABLE TO USE AN INTRICATE SET OF PULLEYS AND LEVERS TO STUDY AND CAPTURE PICTURES FOR EACH SECTION OF TREE.

AFTER 32 DAYS AND 126 PHOTOS LATER…. THIS IS THE RESULT !
